The main feature of the DiVi CAM 428 is its ability to record MPEG-4 movies in 640 x 480 (VGA) resolutions at a blazing 30 frames per second speed. The result is super smooth and fluid video quality. There is even an option to select the recorded format in AVI or ASF.
With a 4.0 Megapixel CCD (Charged Coupled Device) sensor, the DiVi CAM 428 can capture sharp images with vibrant colors, even under dimly-lit environments. Users can even opt to capture images at a whopping 8.0 megapixels using the in-cam interpolation.
Besides taking video and pictures, the DiVi CAM 428 posses other functions such as MP3 playing and voice recording, and even doubles up as a portable storage device. For voice recording, the built-in voice recording function records voice clips in WAV format. Whether it is a business meeting, lecture class or even a workshop seminar, users can be assured of getting high quality recordings with excellent audio clarity.
The DiVi CAM 428 is also equipped with an auto-focus lens that ensures the subject is in focus when recording a video or capturing an image.
Other specifications include: 4X Digital zoom that allows users to capture close-up details of objects that are far away; five different flash modes to suit different situations - Auto, Off, Red-Eye Reduction, Force and Slow-sync; Night Mode that will activate the noise-reduction mode essential for long exposure shots; and Macro Mode that allows users to take images at distances of 16 centimeters or less.
An interesting feature is the LCD display which has a flip-and-twist capability, allowing users to rotate it up to 270°. This provides users with the freedom to compose their video & photos from whatever angle. With the huge 2-inch size LTPS (Low Temperature Poly Silicon) LCD screen, users can preview and playback videos and photos more comfortably and with greater clarity.
The DiVi CAM 428 now comes with a high capacity (1000mAh) Lithium-ion rechargeable battery, which can lasts for hours of video or hundreds of photos on a single charge. There is even a charging cradle provided for convenient charging of the battery.
The camera also comes with a Secure Digital (SD) expansion slot, where users can now boost the camera's memory capacity up to 1GB to capture more images and record longer videos. With just a USB cable, the camera can be connected directly to a DirectPrint-compatible printer to print photos without requiring the use of a PC.
Additionally, users can connect the camera directly to any TV with the supplied video/audio cables and playback their movie clips or photos to share with their family and friends. With the Hi-Speed USB 2.0 connectivity, transferring of files between camera and PC is a wheeze!
Users can also make full use of their captured videos and images with two bundled software - Presto! Mr Photo 3 and Presto! VideoWorks 6. Presto!
