This design win furthers Creative's strong presence in the OEM market with compelling solutions in all categories. In addition to enjoying top performing graphics acceleration from the Graphics Blaster RIVA 128ZX AGP, IBM Aptiva PC users will also benefit from top customer service and support - and from customized drivers and software developed by Creative's Graphics Development Team.
"The OEM Graphics Development Team at Creative is focused on working with OEMs such as IBM to deliver the ultimate graphics solution to consumers," said John Troutman, vice president, OEM Sales at Creative. "This latest design win with IBM highlights our ability to provide custom performance solutions that add tremendous value and allow our customers to remain competitive."
RIVA 128ZX Chipset
The RIVA 128ZX 3D processor chip from NVIDIA features an 8MB frame
buffer (8 or 16Mbit SGRAM) and AGP 2X to support the storage of
high-quality 3D textures in addition to a 250MHz RAMDAC, to drive
extreme resolutions, color depths and ergonomic refresh rates,
up to 1600x1200x32bpp at 85Hz. The RIVA 128ZX integrates
advanced video processing technologies necessary to accelerate
multimedia applications. Technologies such as scatter-gather
DMA, color format conversion, scaling and filtering, and TV flicker-filtering
enhance the playback of high-quality digital video. The RIVA
128ZX processor is optimized for both Direct3DTM and OpenGLTM
- industry standards that provide gamers with the ultimate gaming
experience. Like its predecessor, the RIVA 128ZX utilizes a 128-bit
graphics pipeline to the frame buffer interface to support the
computational throughput required for today's graphically intense
applications.
