What: Creative Technology Ltd., the worldwide leader in digital entertainment products for users of personal computers and the Internet, announced today plans to hit the road to tour colleges across the U.S. with the NOMAD MuVo, the world's smallest MP3 player and portable USB storage device all in one. NOMAD MuVo will move onto more than 200 college campuses bringing all the academic essentials including tunes, food, prizes and more.
When I was a kid...
"I wish we had something like this when I was in college," said Kevin Yeung, Creative product manager for portable audio products. "I remember carrying around stacks of floppies loaded with homework and term papers, but now you can carry all of that on the NOMAD MuVo and listen to your favorite music with it at the same time. NOMAD MuVo should be on the top of every student's list of school supplies. In fact, NOMAD MuVo was recently selected as one of the Newsweek editors' top ten cool back to school picks."
Music, food, prizes and more!
In addition to conducting NOMAD MuVo demos throughout the day, Creative Labs will be providing food, music and prizes at each venue. Students will have a chance to win a NOMAD MuVo, and every student will walk away with something fun, such as a T-shirt, bottle opener or carabiner*. Just look for the NOMAD booth at a college near you.
An MP3 player even your parents would approve of
Although your parents might want you to be a rocket scientist, you don't have to be one to use the NOMAD MuVo. The ultra-sleek NOMAD MuVo is comprised of two parts. The MuVo Memory slides apart from its battery holder and plugs into the USB port of a PC. Once plugged in, NOMAD MuVo will automatically be detected as removable storage and can be used as easily as a floppy, but the NOMAD MuVo with 64MB of memory holds up to 44 times more than a floppy. Simply drag and drop MP3s, WMAs, homework, or presentations - whatever you want - onto the NOMAD MuVo, plug it back into its battery pack, and start listening to high quality tunes on your way to class. There is no software to install** and no cables to lose track of. NOMAD MuVo is rugged enough to take jogging or to attach to a key chain or backpack.
When & Where: The NOMAD College Tour starts August 27th 2002, and will continue through the end of November at colleges and universities across the U.S. For specific dates, college locations, and complete press kit information, please visit www.nomadcollegetour.com.
