CREATIVE SUPPLIES TWINHEAD INTERNATIONAL WITH POWERFUL NOTEBOOK AUDIO SOLUTION

MILPITAS, Calif. - September 15, 1999 - Creative Technology Ltd. (NASDAQ: CREAF), the leading provider of multimedia solutions for personal entertainment, today announced that Twinhead International Corporation (TIC), will be using Creative's EV1938 mobile audio chip solution for their Slimnote line of notebook computers. The EV1938 chip, designed by Creative Labs Malvern, is a single chip PCI audio controller based on the popular Sound Blaster AudioPCI 64 sound card. It offers a powerful digital and analog audio-processing engine, and was designed specifically for integration with notebook and hand-held PCs, where an optimal balance between size, performance, sound quality, and power consumption is critical.

"The EV1938 audio chip set is ideal for our Slimnote line of laptop PC's", states W.T. Niu, director of marketing for Twinhead International Corporation. "The 1938 is rich in features, delivers excellent sound and runs very efficiently, which is a key factor in laptop design. In addition, Creative's excellent reputation for offering top quality products and services makes the EV1938 a great solution for our Slimnote line."

The EV1938 incorporates built-in AC-97 Codec, delivering a 90db signal-to-noise ratio on playback. Combined with a low distortion mixer, users will enjoy a dramatically enhanced audio experience over standard PC speakers. Among the audio features the EV1938 delivers is a 128-voice multi-timbral wavetable synthesizer with 128 GM and GS compatible instruments, 16 MIDI channels, multi-algorithm digital reverb, chorus, spatialization plus tone controls. The EV1938 is Sound Blaster 16 compatible, ensuring support for legacy games. Other gaming features include support for Microsoft's DirectSound 3D and EAX (Creatives popular Environmental Audio Extensions). In addition, 3D audio output for games is produced by a sophisticated algorithm, which creates a 3D audio environment using only two speakers.

Tony Chen, Director of Marketing for Creative's OEM Mobile Unit states, "We are very pleased that Twinhead chose to introduce Creative's mobile audio solution into their Slimnote laptop lines. The EV1938 provides low power consumption, small real estate, high-quality digital audio and digital docking support. We believe that Creative's new mobile audio solution and strategy raise the standard for mobile audio integration."

The EV1938 is ideal for notebook and hand-held PC integration, operating 3.3 volts with a 5.0 volt tolerance. Power saving features support ACPI 1.0, PPMI 1.1 and Microsoft's OnNow. For docking applications, the EV1938 offers digital docking and supports multiple AC-97 Codecs, which allows for high quality, multiple-channel sound. S/PDIF digital output will send compressed Dolby Digital AC-3 data to a decoder, and will also allow connection to digital speakers or other digital device. An I2S input allows digital audio input from an external source, such as 2-channel decoded AC-3 from DVD decoders and MPEG-2 Zoom Video.
