"The new Wildcat VP Acuity drivers unleash the power that Maya 5 content creators expect from hardware rendering capabilities," said Rob Hoffmann, senior Maya product marketing manager at Alias. "The extensive line-up of Wildcat VP graphics accelerators provides blazing fast true-to-life hardware rendering capabilities to artists and engineers."
The new Acuity driver supports Wildcat VP products from the value-priced Wildcat VP560 to the high-end Wildcat VP990 Pro, the only currently available workstation graphics accelerator with 512 MB of onboard memory. By leveraging the Wildcat VP's fully programmable VPU architecture with the addition of new OpenGL® extensions, the Acuity drivers provide increased realism for CAD and DCC projects. Alias' Academy Award® winning Maya 5 software is used by leading-edge film and video artists, computer game developers and design professionals who employ it daily to create engaging digital imagery, animation and visual effects.
"3Dlabs recognizes that Maya artists are at the cutting-edge of creating cinematic realism in their work," said Jeff Little, director of marketing at 3Dlabs. "With our new Wildcat VP drivers and the new version of Maya 5 software, Maya artists will be amazed by how easily they can achieve the most realistic and vivid visual effects."
