New 32MB Graphics Accelerator to Power Gateway Performance PCs

MILPITAS, Calif. - June 7, 1999 - In its fourth strategic design win with Gateway this year, Creative Technology Ltd. (NASDAQ: CREAF), the renowned innovator of market-leading multimedia solutions for personal entertainment, today announced that Gateway (NYSE: GTW) is offering the company's 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra and 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 graphics accelerators in its GatewayTM Performance line of PCs, targeting customers utilizing high-end graphics applications and hard-core gaming enthusiasts. The initial release of the 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra will be in the Gateway Performance 550XL. The 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 will be included in the GatewayTM Performance 550. Based on the award-winning RIVA TNT2 graphics processor from NVIDIA Corporation, the 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra and 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 accelerators combine exceptional performance and outstanding image quality.

The 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra combines 128-bit architecture and a patented TwiN-Texel dual-pipeline 3D rendering engine to deliver unrivaled power and performance for exceptional gameplay. The 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra also supports exceedingly high resolutions and refresh rates with 32MB of high-performance synchronous memory and a 300 MHz DAC for pixel perfect color.

The advanced design of the 3D Blaster RIVA TNT2 Ultra provides a comprehensive graphics platform for gaming with one of the most complete 3D rendering engines found on any PC-based accelerator. Critical features such as full 32-bit color rendering, multiple textures and textures as large as 2048 x 2048, bump-mapping, full-screen anti-aliasing, and stencil buffering deliver unmatched gaming performance and 3D imagery.
