For: Single-person recordings
Livestreams, gameplays, conference calls, or just typical everyday communication
This front-focused mode best captures sounds made directly to the front of the mic to minimize unwanted environmental sounds caught behind it, for rich and full-bodied sound.
For: Multiple users
Podcast recordings with two to three hosts, group conference calls, or ASMR
This all-angle mode is captures sounds coming equally from all directions where a reasonably wide capture radius is required, to cater for multiple users or sound sources.
Mute when you need to—like when an uncontrollable sneeze happens mid-stream. The mute / unmute button and LED indicator lets you stay aware and control your microphone's status instinctively.
Reduce plosive effects—the abrupt and sudden pops of sound that happens especially when you are pronouncing your B, P, T, and D's—with the detachable magnetic pop filter. Simply place or lift the filter from the magnetic grooves as needed.
Change the angle of the microphone to exactly where it needs to be with its detachable and adjustable table stand that allows for up to 90° tilt angle with 360° rotation.
Mount and attach it to any common standard tripod setup that supports 1/4-20 UNC thread. Its slim and compact form factor also makes it a great fit in any type of setup.
Find the right distance between you and your microphone
The general rule of thumb is to place the microphone about 6-12 inches away from where you are speaking. While the microphone should be placed relatively close to you, do take note that your voice may come across overly bassy if you are speaking too closely into it.
Direct your voice into the microphone
High frequency sounds, like voice, are very directional, so you should be facing the microphone as much as possible. If you turn your head away from the microphone during recording, your voice may come across unintentionally dull or airy.
Take note of what's in your background or on you
Take note of any jangling jewelleries or watch that's on you, loose clothes ruffles, or any items that may potentially create unwanted noise while you are recording, especially when you get too excited mid-stream.
Practice to find out what works for you
Sit in front of the microphone, start recording, and get used to how your setup works. Replay it to figure out your habits and nuances—the more natural you are behind the microphone, the more engaged your audience will be.
The Creative Live! Mic M3 comes in such a comprehensive package that it is an ideal starter pack for any one who is serious in doing voice work. What makes the Live! Mic M3 a great buy is the accessories that come with the package. The sturdy mic stand, magnetic pop filter, the screw mount supports both 1/4-inch and 5/8-inch threads. The mic itself is practically an external sound card, which you can connect a headphone to enjoy hi-res 24-bit audio, with volume controls and mute button.
Creative Live! Mic M3
Generally speaking, the Creative Live! Mic M3 works nicely. Though its sound quality competes heavily with other USB microphones at this price range, it's a step up from most laptop microphones, and has a bunch of features to back it up, from the convenience of having a mute button, to the ability to monitor audio in real-time should you need it.
Creative Live! Mic M3
I replaced my Razer Seiren Mini USB mic with the Creative Live! Mic M3 and I absolutely love it. I use this mainly for Microsoft Teams meetings, Google Duo, and for recording voice overs for tech tutorials. The Razer mic sounded great but my voice sounds even clearer using the Creative mic. Many people have complimented me on how great I sound during conference calls since making the switch. When I'm not using it I love the inclusion of a mute button which is absent on the Razer mic. This saves me the hassle of going into Control Panel and manually muting it or even disconnecting it when it's not in use. I can easily know if it's muted or not via the LED light. I have tested the mic monitoring feature using a pair of Aurvana Trio LS headphones. However, I do prefer to use my BT-W3 adapter and Aurvana Trio Wireless headphones in conjunction with the mic so I use the test call option in Teams and/or the Recording tab of the Sound Applet in Control Panel but it's nice to have this as an option. Since I already have a mic stand, I wanted to mount this to it. Unfortunately my stand did not contain the appropriate adapter but I was able to 3d print one that does (3/8" female - 1/4" male). There's not much improvement that can be made to this but it would be great if they release a USB-C version someday or integrate the BT-W3 so I can use APTX-LL instead of wired headphones.
Solid built and the audio quality is amazing.
Great mic. Simple to set-up and doesn't require any app installation to use.
